BAR RE-DESIGN
SELF INITIATED PROJECT
Company: P&C Projects Ltd
Brief: To redesign a client’ bar, incorporating a contemporary outcome to re-vamp the existing bar.
Process
Visit: Taking a look at the existing bar, it was clear that it needed some form of lighting to brighten the space, but not in such a literal way. Given the clients requirements, I was briefed to look into how to approach the overall look and mood of the bar, as it was intended to be the main focal point of the room; with additional seating, television and lounge area.
Design
Material: Alabaster – a soft white or translucent stone
After previous research in the material, it came to my attention that this was exactly what the client was looking for. The translucent nature means that the stone will glow when exposed to a light source – hence the appeal for it.
From this, I developed my own design visual to illustrate to the client the effect it would give off.
Finished Product
Here are the final images straight from the location of how the material ended up looking. It was a pleasure to design, and real interest for me from a materialistic point of view. As you can see, the Alabaster adds a touch of magic to create a vibrant, social environment.
